About Dr. Kerrie Snider, BSc, OD
Dr. Kerrie Snider was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She graduated from Medicine Hat High School with honors. She then moved to Waterloo, Ontario, where she began her studies at the prestigious University of Waterloo. She completed her Bachelor of Science in 2001 and was accepted into the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She thoroughly enjoyed all 4 years of optometry school and graduated on the Dean’s Honours List in 2005 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Snider has a husband who does marketing and helps her manage her practice. They have 4 kids living at home.
Hands-On Training
During her time in optometry school, she participated in an eye care mission to Villahermosa, Mexico, providing eye exams and distributing glasses to people in need. During her final year of optometry school, Dr. Snider did an internship at the Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City. This internship allowed her to work under Dr. Robert Wooldridge, one of the leading optometrists in the field of glaucoma and medical optometry.
The Beginnings of ClearView EyeCare
After convocation, Dr. Snider immediately began work on her own solo optometry practice. She built her practice from the ground up, including designing the office floor plan and interior design. Under the tutelage of her father, who has been a business owner in Medicine Hat for over 35 years, she established and opened her clinic, ClearView EyeCare, in January 2006.
Dr. Snider’s Current Practice
Dr. Snider’s practice is a busy, full-service optometry clinic. She is part of the Traveling Low Vision Clinic, which uses an interdisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive low vision assessments, treatment plans and intervention for children with severe visual impairments. She is also a co-managing doctor with Gimbel Eye Centre®, LASIK MD, and Seema EyeCare Centre in Calgary. Dr. Snider is the founding president of the Medicine Hat Optometric society which aims to improve community and the accessibility of continuing education for optometrist in the Medicine Hat and Brooks area.
All of these things combine to make Dr. Snider a compassionate and hardworking professional. She loves her profession and continually strives to provide excellent optometric care to her patients with integrity and impartiality.

Hobbies & Interests
In her spare time, Dr. Snider loves to travel and has been to many locations, including Tanzania, Dubai, Greece, Italy and the Caribbean. She is also an avid seamstress and quilter. She enjoys reading and learning new things. In 2016 she was nominated for the Woman in Business Inspire Award, and every year she spends time mentoring high school girls as a Jr. Achievement Woman in Science mentor. She is actively involved at Temple Baptist Church as a lay-leader and women’s Bible study teacher. She values her family and has strong ties to the community of Medicine Hat.
